Venn 2027 THL SL: a light XC race rim
The Venn 2027 THL SL is a 29″ hookless cross-country rim at just 280g (±15g). The low 20mm profile keeps weight down and adds a little vertical compliance for traction and comfort over a long race.
Profile
27mm internal and 32mm external width, a good match for 2.2-2.4″ XC tires. Available with 24, 28 or 32 spoke holes; ERD 600.5mm. The profile is asymmetric: the spoke holes sit 2.6mm off centre, which evens out the spoke tension between the two sides of the wheel. Lace it with the offset toward the non-drive side at the rear and away from the brake rotor at the front.
Moulded for a flawless wall
Articulated, multi-part tooling, layup preformed to net shape and controlled pressure and temperature give a fully compacted wall, virtually free of voids, and a surface that needs no clear coat.
Hookless and tubeless
The hookless bead seat holds tubeless tires firmly and shrugs off rim strikes better than a hooked edge. Use tubeless tires approved for hookless rims and stay within the tire maker’s hookless pressure limit.
Tool access holes or a sealed tire bed
Order the rim with tool access holes (fit tubeless tape) or without them for a true tubeless tire bed that needs no tape at all. The sealed version takes external nipples only.
Your finish, your decals
Choose gloss uncoated or matte uncoated. Both show the bare carbon, with no paint or clear coat added. Decals: silver Venn Hanko, the original black Venn logo, or none.
