Venn 620A TCD UL: our asymmetric 62mm road rim

The Venn 620A TCD UL is the asymmetric sibling of our 620 TCD SL: the same 62mm depth, with the spoke holes offset 2mm from the centre. The offset evens out the spoke tension between the two sides of the wheel. Its UL construction weighs 395g (±15g). It measures 29.5mm at the uprights and 32.5mm at its widest point, so the rim is wider than the 28mm tire it carries.

Road tires and builds

The 23mm internal width suits 28-30mm road tires. Choose 20 or 24 spoke holes. The holes are moulded in, not drilled, so the fibres around each one are never cut. The hole angles are set for a road hub such as the DT Swiss 240, so the rim is not for Boost hubs. ERD 515mm. The same rim builds a front or a rear wheel, laced 1:1 (the same number of spokes on each side of the hub). Lace it with the offset toward the non-drive side at the rear and away from the brake rotor at the front.

Moulded for a flawless wall

Articulated, multi-part tooling, layup preformed to net shape and controlled pressure and temperature give a fully compacted wall, virtually free of voids, and a surface that needs no clear coat.

The fibre is a blend of T700/T800 and T1100 grades.

Tubeless ready

The hooked bead takes tubeless tires as well as standard clinchers with inner tubes. Run tubeless with sealant and most punctures seal themselves before you notice them.

Tool access holes or a sealed tire bed

Order the rim with tool access holes (fit tubeless tape) or without them for a true tubeless tire bed that needs no tape at all. Either way, the moulded holes take external nipples only.

Your finish, your decals

Choose gloss uncoated or matte uncoated. Both show the bare carbon, with no paint or clear coat added. Decals: silver Venn Hanko, the original black Venn logo, or none.
