Venn 450A TCD UL: an asymmetric 45mm road rim
The Venn 450A TCD UL is a 45mm deep road disc rim with its spoke holes 2mm off centre, which evens out the spoke tension between the two sides of the wheel. It weighs 325g (±15g) and measures 29.5mm at the uprights and 31.5mm at its widest point. An all-rounder for climbing days and fast group rides.
Two internal widths
Choose a 23.6mm internal width for 28-30mm road tires, or 24.8mm for a wider tire. Both share the same depth, weight, ERD and options, at the same price.
Road tires and builds
Choose 20 or 24 spoke holes. The holes are moulded in, not drilled, so the fibres around each one are never cut. The hole angles are set for a road hub such as the DT Swiss 240, so the rim is not for Boost hubs. ERD 549mm. The same rim builds a front or a rear wheel, laced 1:1 (the same number of spokes on each side of the hub). Lace it with the offset toward the non-drive side at the rear and away from the brake rotor at the front.
Tubeless ready
The hooked bead takes tubeless tires as well as standard clinchers with inner tubes. Run tubeless with sealant and most punctures seal themselves before you notice them.
Tool access holes or a sealed tire bed
Order the rim with tool access holes (fit tubeless tape) or without them for a true tubeless tire bed that needs no tape at all. Either way, the moulded holes take external nipples only.
Your finish, your decals
Choose gloss uncoated or matte uncoated: no paint and no clear coat. Decals: silver Venn Hanko, the original black Venn logo, or none.
