The Venn 440 S 32″: a complete 32-inch gravel wheelset on 44mm deep, 32mm wide carbon rims, from 1330g a pair.
The Venn 440 TCD UL 32″ rim, 44mm deep with a 32mm internal bed, laced with Pillar PSR 1420 bladed steel spokes and built by hand, ready to ride. Choose the hubs that match your frame: 12 x 100 / 12 x 142 thru axles with 24 or 28 spokes a wheel, or Boost with 28.
Why 32 inches.
A bigger wheel meets a root, a rut or a stone at a shallower angle, so it rolls over what a smaller wheel has to climb, and it holds its speed on rough ground.
A wide rim for 32-inch gravel tires.
At 39mm across its widest point the rim carries a wide tire cleanly, and the 32mm internal bed lets you run it at low pressure for grip and comfort on loose ground. The hooked bead takes tubeless and clincher tires alike. Tubeless ready, with tubeless tape and valves included.
Pillar PSR 1420 bladed steel spokes.
A steel spoke yields slightly under a hit and comes back, taking energy out of an impact before the rim has to absorb all of it. The bladed profile is light and narrow, and any shop, anywhere, can source, true or replace one.
Three hub choices.
Venn S hubs, 24 front and 24 rear, on 12 x 100 and 12 x 142 thru axles: the lightest build, 1330g a pair. 28-hole hubs on the same axles, for heavier riders and loaded touring: 1420g. Or Boost hubs, 28 / 28, with a 12 x 148 rear and a 15 x 110 or 12 x 100 front: 1420g. Every hub turns on sealed steel bearings and takes a Center Lock rotor.
No clear coat, your choice of surface.
The rim carries no clear coat, whichever surface you choose: gloss, matte, or the 25k filament wound pattern. Gloss and matte weigh the same; the 25k surface adds 25 g per rim. All three cost the same.
